EASTER SUNDAY
Mathew 28,1-10 ![]() In life, things that cause suffering and pain are the loss of a loved one. When we were young, our parents loved and always took good care of us. When they suddenly die, we become an orphan. At that time, we realize that no one loves us or cares for us as our parents did. Let us consider another loss, such as a loss of a best friend, the kind of friend that you consider as a family member, some one that you feel comfortable with, can trust and share everything with.
Can you imagine the feelings of loneliness, sadness and despair you would be with this sudden loss? But what if God gave you another chance with your loved one again? Then the pain and suffering will become a feeling of most happiness in your life, right! When Jesus died, his disciples were at loss. Without Jesus, they had no hope for their lives, no leader to guide them, no one to offer them a love as Jesus loved them. The disciples went through a period of mourning, grieving, and deep fear from the threats of society: crucifixion or death for all Christians. It took an event as severe as his death for his followers to open their eyes and see that he sacrificed his life and went through extreme suffering for us. If the disciples were allowed another chance to walk with Jesus, what would they change? How would they live? How would we live if we too were offered this opportunity? Take this time to reflect how you react to situations involving our parents, siblings, friends, and community. We still have a chance to change our attitude and make our lives worthy to God. Do not wait until that person is gone for you to change. Change while they are still here to see and appreciate your love. Lord! Give me Your heart so I can express love as you did. Renew our heart so we can love everyone including people that don’t love us. Live in me so others will know You through my love and kindness. Amen. by Hồng Ân Chúa |
